Saskatchewan Legislative Building

On June 14th of this year, the provincial government received a heritage award from Her Honour Vaughn Solomon Schofield, Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, for the dome restoration project at the Legislative Building in Regina, completed in 2016. This repair was necessary to preserve the building. The building was constructed over a period of four years, 1908 to 1912, by Peter Lyall and Sons of Montreal. Architects were Edward and W.S. Maxwell, Frederick G. Todd, and Thomas Mawson. The building and grounds was designated a National Historic Site in 2004 because it embodies the ambition and drive of the Saskatchewan people.
